Enable the Registrant Account Center

Allow registrants to resend confirmations and view, edit, transfer and/or partially refund their orders in the Registrant Account Center

Written by Ashley

With the Registrant Account Center, you can give registrants a simple way to manage their own orders. When enabled, registrants can log in to view all of their registrations and purchases for your events.

You can choose to enable the Account Center on one or multiple event pages, set permissions for editing registrations, charge a fee for making changes to specific fields, and allow registrants to transfer their registrations if they can no longer attend.

Enable the Registrant Account Center

When the Registrant Account Center is enabled, registrants can use their email to log in and easily manage their registrations. You can control when registrants see the link to log in.

  • From the top menu bar, click the pencil icon on the page you want to edit

  • Hover your mouse over the Settings tab in the top menu bar

  • Select Registrant Permissions from the dropdown

  • Toggle the Allow Registrant to Create an Account button to Yes

  • Select when registrants can see the option to log in. By default, no dates or times are set, so registrants will always see the option. To restrict this, enter a specific date and time range

  • Select where to display the link to the Registrant Account Center

    • Click the At the bottom of the receipt page checkbox to show registrants the link to the Registrant Account Center on the confirmation page. If desired, customize the message and the button text

    • Click the On email confirmations checkbox to show registrants the link to the Registrant Account Center on the confirmation email. If desired, customize the message and the button text

Pro Tip: When you limit the dates and times registrants can create accounts, RedPodium will only display the link to the Account Center on the confirmation page and/or confirmation email during that window.

It's important to note that this feature limits account creation based on the date the registrant purchases registrations, not the current date. For example, if someone purchases registrations while the account creation window is open, their confirmation page and email will include the Account Center link. Even if the window later closes, they can still use that link to log in at any time.

Customize Registrant Permissions

After enabling the Registrant Account Center, you have full control over the actions registrants can take for each individual event page. From here, you can customize permissions such as whether registrants are allowed to edit their registrations, whether an edit fee should apply, and whether registrant transfers are permitted. You can also create a button that links to your Account Center, making it easy for registrants to access and manage their orders.

Allow Registrants to Edit their Registrations

RedPodium makes it easy to let registrants update their own orders. When this option is turned on, you can decide when edits are allowed, customize if registrants can make changes that result in a partial refund, and determine the fields registrants can modify.

Pro Tip: In RedPodium, registrants cannot cancel their order entirely. They can only edit their order. If a registrant wants to cancel their order, they will need to reach out to the event organizer.

  • Toggle on Allow Registrants to Edit their Registration to Yes

  • Set when registrants can make changes to their orders. If this option is left blank, registrants can edit their orders at any time. You can add a date and time if you want to restrict this

  • Toggle the Allow changes and downgrades button to Yes to allow registrants to make changes that result in refunds. This option is turned off by default. Note: Registrants cannot cancel their order, even if this option is turned on

  • Use the Disallow These Fields from Being Edited to restrict registrants from editing specific fields

Note: Allowing registrants to make edits that result in partial refunds does not give them the ability to cancel their entire order. It only permits changes such as updating their registration option to a less expensive option or removing merchandise items.

Enable Change Fee for Edits

You can charge a change fee when registrants modify their orders. This optional setting automatically applies a fee whenever a registrant edits specific fields.

  • Toggle on Enable Change Fee for Edits to Yes

  • Choose whether you would like to adjust the price by $ or %, and enter the change fee in the text field

  • Use the Apply Change Fee when These Fields are Modified to specify the fields that will trigger a change fee

Note: The Change Fee is not applied when registrants add additional registrations to their order. It only applies when changes are made, such as adding or removing merchandise, updating sessions, and more.

Allow Registrants to Transfer their Registrations

Registration transfers allow registrants to transfer their registrations to another interested buyer. If a registrant can no longer attend and refunds aren’t offered, they can recoup their costs by transferring their registration to someone who can go in their place. Click here to learn more about registration transfers.

  • Toggle the Allow registrant to transfer their registrations button to Yes

  • Set when registrants can transfer their registrations, if desired. If this option is left blank, registrants can transfer their orders at any time

  • Add a Transfer Fee to charge a fee for transferring your registration, if desired. This fee can be a fixed dollar amount or a percentage

  • Toggle on Lock Registration Options for Transferee. When enabled, this requires the transferee to select the same registration option as the original registrant

Note: Once the transfer is completed, the original registrant will be refunded. If you have a change fee, this fee will be deducted from the refund the registrant sees. The original registration(s) will be canceled, and the new registrant will be registered to attend the event

Create a Button for Your Website

The Website Button Builder lets you quickly create a button for your website that registrants can click to log in to their account.

  • Customize the Button Text
