Add Wave Times to Your Registration Page

Use the Wave Time field to create staggered start times or heats for your race so registrants can select their preferred wave

Written by Ashley

The Wave Time field lets you organize registrants into separate start times for your event, whether you're running a race with multiple heats or timed entry slots. You can generate waves automatically and set limits so a wave closes once it's full.

Add a Wave Time Field

  • From the Pages screen, click the pencil icon on the page you want to edit

  • Hover over your page, and click the green + icon where you want to add the field

  • Add the Wave Time field

  • Customize the Label as desired

  • Toggle the Required field to Yes or No

  • Toggle the Financial Options field to Yes or No

  • Add a Wave Name to your first wave

  • Select Auto-Number to automatically number each wave, or uncheck this option to set individual wave names

  • Select the first wave start time

  • Select the last wave start time

  • Set the time between waves

  • Add a Limit per Wave to limit the number of registrants who can select a wave

  • Toggle on Hide Wave When Full to hide a wave once it reaches its capacity

  • Click Generate Waves

Pro Tip: If you don't select the Auto Number feature, make sure to rename each wave name to a unique name so registrants can tell them apart.

Note: You can also build your waves one at a time instead of generating them in bulk. Here is how to use this feature!

  • Click Manually Generate Waves

  • Click Add Wave Time

  • Set a name, wave time, and supply for the wave. Toggle on the option to hide the wave when it has reached capacity if desired

  • Click Advanced Options

    • Show Remaining Supply: if using limited supply, show the number of available spots on the published page

  • Click Done

  • Click Save Now in the upper-right corner of your page to save your changes. Click Publish to publish these changes to your live page
