Selling raffle tickets online is a popular way to raise extra money for your cause and add some excitement to your event. With Webconnex’s sister product, TicketSpice, you can sell raffle tickets online and use the raffle ticket numbers to conduct your drawing.
Before you go live selling raffle tickets, there are two important things to check first.
Jump To...
Check State and Local Raffle Laws
Before getting started, confirm that your state or local jurisdiction permits online raffle sales. Regulations vary widely. Some states allow raffles but prohibit selling tickets online, while others permit online raffles only for federally recognized charities. In some cases, you may need to obtain special authorization before running a raffle.
Before hosting an online raffle, do your due diligence to ensure raffles are allowed in your area and to understand whether raffles can be sold online.
Check Your Payment Processor's Terms of Service
Another key step in determining whether you can sell raffle tickets online is reviewing your payment processor’s terms of service. Payment processors each have their own rules about which activities they allow, and raffles are a common restriction. Confirm that your payment processor allows raffles before hosting an online raffle.
If you are using Webconnex Payments, please reach out to [email protected] to confirm whether your event is eligible to host an online raffle.
Sell Raffle Tickets with TicketSpice
Once you’ve confirmed that online raffles are permitted in your jurisdiction and supported by your payment processor, you’re ready to begin.
RedPodium does not currently support raffle ticket sales. To sell raffle tickets online, use our sister product, TicketSpice.
